Julian Anderson is President of the Rider Levett Bucknall Americas practice and a member of Rider Levett Bucknall's Global Board. He is responsible for the overall management of the Americas practice and is the key client liaison for Rider Levett Bucknall|Life services in the Americas. He has provided Life services on a number of buildings throughout the U.S. and is also an expert in construction cost and project management and expert witness testimony for construction litigation. Julian is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with a degree in Construction Economics. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, a licensed general contractor, and has been a Certified Cost Consultant since 1994.
Julian was highly involved in the draft and adoption of Arizona HB 2470, which requires state and government buildings in excess of 25,000 square feet to consider economically effective options for extending the life of existing buildings. As a result of the bill, over a six month period, RElifing ® studies conducted on 80 Arizona state buildings resulted in a more sustainable approach to development and saved Arizona taxpayers over $26 million. This bill was adopted by the American Legislative Exchange Council as "model" legislation for all 50 states.
As a recognized expert in the construction industry, Mr. Anderson has published numerous articles and has presented several lectures and programs on construction economics and the Age of Environmental Thrift.
