A BENCHMARK PROJECT FOR COLLABORATIVE WORKING, UK

As the national headquarters for the Defence Logistics Organisation, Andover comprises 280,000 square feet of offices, live-in accommodation, technical building, sports facilities, a day nursery and landscaping of the 34-acre site.
Although Rider Levett Bucknall was appointed the prime contractor, they ran the project as a collaborative partnership. This approach focused on working together collaboratively with the core team to drive out waste, reduce cost and improve value.

AMBITIOUS CLUB EXPANSION, AUSTRALIA

The Campbelltown Catholic Club mixed-use development embodies a series of projects that form a master plan six years in the making.
It represents an ambitious building program focused on diversifying the club's business, expanding non-core assets and significantly reducing reliance on gaming revenue.
The development includes a club expansion and underground car park, a fitness and lesiure centre, 4.5 star hotel and exhibition facility. The club precinct is regarded as one of the key districts within the Macarthur area of Western Sydney.
Rider Levett Bucknall provided cost and delivery advice for this extremely successful and diverse mixed use project, which is now home to the latest conference, exhibition and entertainment facility, set to cater to the needs of the local community and beyond.

BEACON OF ASPIRATION & CREATIVITY, SAUDI ARABIA

In close proximity to the King Abdullah Financial District, the 62-storey Rafal Tower is a carefully selected mixed-use precinct, with unique architecture and beautiful views.
The tower consists of two basement car parks with a six level podium, 14 level Kempinski hotel, four levels of serviced apartments, 15 office levels, apartment levels and four technical levels.
Rider Levett Bucknall will provide pre and post contract services.

CHINA'S FIRST LIFESTYLE CENTRE, CHINA

Located at the northwest of Chaoyang in Beijing, Solana Park is the first lifestyle shopping park in China.
The centre represents a new direction in China's retail development scene with a fusion of local and global brands, 600 retail shops, 30 restaurants and 20 bars and clubs. The approach is to provide consumers with variety and a memorable shopping experience.
Solana is unique because it is low density. 19 two to three-storey Mediterranean-style buildings are built around a landscaped waterside environment, which contributes to the successful integration of environmental features into the shopping park design.
The design pulls together ideas from all over the world - Europe, India, North America and China. It includes a wide mix of tenants arranged along themed "streets" and combines elegant water features and fanciful lighting.
Rider Levett Bucknall provided full quantity surveying services for the development.

EXCITING NEW DESTINATION, NEW ZEALAND

The Chews Lane Precinct is a Property Council New Zealand Rider Levett Bucknall award-winning mixed use development in the heart of Wellington, New Zealand.
The Chews Lane Precinct is the ultimate response to a brief prepared by the Wellington City Council seeking to ensure that this strategically located site in the Wellington CBD was redeveloped to enhance the precinct. The 4,000 m2 site has been fully redeveloped to incorporate a wide variety of uses, including office, parking, retail and apartments.
Rider Levett Bucknall provided cost and delivery advice for this blended development delivering: 19 retail stores, 15,000 m2 of office space and 197 car parks.
The development has achieved a very clever blend of old and new structures and comprises a number of new and refurbished buildings centred around a revitalised Chews Lane. The development has created very significant value on the site. Considered internationally competitive in all judging criteria, The Chews Lane Precinct was awarded the Property Council New Zealand Supreme Award for 2009.

INNOVATIVE REGENERATION PROJECT, UK

Connaught Square in the UK will occupy a 4.5-acre site in Bermingham and is set to transform the city's Irish Quarter.
The multimillion pound development will comprise 658 new apartments, a 180-bed hotel incorporating 36 serviced apartments, shops, offices, bars, restaurants, more than 1,000 underground car parking spaces, two new public squares and public amenity spare.
Key features will include a luxury hotel with a sky bar and restaurant offering panoramic views of the city; a spa facility and a new Irish Centre. A pedestrian boulevard will be carved through the centre of the development, providing access to two new public squares.
"Rider Levett Bucknall was referred to us as a partner with proven skills in regeneration projects. Their recognised international expertise on issues such as capital allowances, land remediation relief and planning, plus their local knowledge of the West Midlands marketplace were invaluable in our plans," said Naus Group operations manager Clayton Smalley.

NEXT GENERATION DEVELOPMENT, SAUDI ARABIA

King Abdullah Financial District will ensure the sustained dominance of Saudi Arabia as the largest economy and financial centre within the region.
King Abdullah Financial District is a whole new area of Riyadh, which is being developed as a financial centre, similar to Canary Wharf in London.
Rider Levett Bucknall is providing full time contract administration services to one of the major contractors on this development. The financial district will house the large community of professionals working within the financial sector and related industries, hosting the headquarters of the Capital Market Authority, the Stock Exchange, banks, financial institutions and other service providers such as accountants, auditors, lawyers, analysts, rating agencies, consultants, and IT providers.

SPECTACULAR MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT, USA

CityCenter Las Vegas is located on 67 acres of the famous Las Vegas Strip.
The project consists of the Aria Resort and Casino as well as three non-gaming hotel and residential towers, Mandarin Oriental, Vdara and Veer Towers. The property also includes 500,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space and a theatre, supported by car parks and an on-site power plant.
Rider Levett Bucknall provided cost management services, including preconstruction estimates which provided a solid base to prepare budgets and negotiate contracts. During construction of the projects, Rider Levett Bucknall evaluated non-conforming work and ensured that MGM Mirage received credits from the General Contractor prior to settlement of the final account.

THE ULTIMATE RETAIL EXPERIENCE, USA

Westfield LLC recently completed a $260 million, 400,000 square foot expansion to the Galleria at Roseville Mall in California, bringing the property to a total of over 1.4 million square feet of retail.
The Westfield Galleria at Roseville Mall expansion featured the introduction of luxury retail space as well as a new upscale dining terrace. The Galleria at Roseville is located 20 miles northeast of Sacramento in one of the fastest growing regions in the USA.
Rider Levett Bucknall provided independent cost estimating and budget verification prior to the project commencement and during construction by providing the lender with an independent review of monthly progress and payment request verification.
Even though a redesign delayed the construction start of the project by three months, the opening schedule was maintained and acceleration costs were offset by a value engineering effort.
Rider Levett Bucknall's proactive cost control procedures throughout design and construction assisted in keeping the project on budget.
