We are pleased to announce that RLB has been appointed to provide full quantity surveying services for the Range (Hong Kong) Sandy Ridge Data Facility Cluster.
This major data centre project, which officially broke ground on 28 March, will significantly enhance the city’s computing capacity and support Hong Kong’s contribution to the national AI push.
Starting from the earliest stage of land acquisition, RLB partnered closely with Hong Kong Range Intelligent Computing Technology Development Company Limited to secure the opportunity to deliver this high‑performance computing facility in the Northern Metropolis. Working alongside a team of specialist consultants, we undertook construction cost estimate for the land bid and laid the foundation for a world‑class, high‑end data centre.
The groundbreaking marks a defining milestone for the Northern Metropolis and Hong Kong’s alignment with the nation’s “AI Plus” initiative under the 15th Five-Year Plan.
With a total floor area of 250,000 square metres, the project will dedicate nearly 90% of its space to high-end data centre use.
Range expects to begin operations at the site within 42 months and invest HK$23.8 billion over the first three years. By 2032, the cluster is expected to deliver 180,000 PFLOPS of computing capacity — around 36 times Hong Kong’s current level.
With hundreds of data centre projects delivered globally, RLB brings deep expertise in cost planning, value engineering and life-cycle costing — helping clients balance sustainability, social responsibility and long-term investment value. Our international benchmarking database and local know-how enable us to deliver smart, sustainable and cost-effective solutions for the most critical infrastructure of the AI era.
We look forward to working closely with the client and the wider project team to help build a world-class digital infrastructure landmark for Hong Kong.
