The RLB Crane Index® – Middle East Q4 2014
December 21, 2014.
Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) in the Middle East is delighted to launch the first issue of the RLB Crane Index™ – Middle East. The RLB Crane Index™ originated in Australia in 2012 as a unique gauge of construction activity, highlighting the construction fluctuation for all sectors across Australia.
About the RLB Crane Index®
The RLB Crane Index™ is published twice a year in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and now in the Middle East. December 2014 represents the inaugural RLB Crane Index™ Middle East, covering Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Doha. It tracks the number of cranes in the main centres of each city.
How we count the cranes
The count gives a simplified measure of the current state of the construction industry development in these locations. Twice a year, RLB offices in the Middle East physically count all fixed cranes in each city’s skyline, providing the base information for the index.
Future publications of the RLB Crane Index™ Middle East will compare movements in the various sectors based on the crane counts.
Our 2014 RLB Crane Index™ shows over 1,000 cranes across Abu Dhabi, Doha and Dubai city skylines. This highlights the significant activity and the continued growth of the construction market following the global economic crisis.
