RLB's Russell Brooks scales new heights
November 9, 2017.
Russell Brooks, a senior project manager at RLB, took part in an expedition over the summer to climb Mount Elbrus in southern Russia. As the highest mountain in Europe, Elbrus is one of the world’s fabled “Seven Summits”.
Russell, who was supported by RLB, was part of a team of five industry colleagues (Including Paragon BC and JLL) who took part in the challenge organised and led by Adventure in Architecture. Not only did they become the first property team to reach the summit of Mount Elbrus, they also raised £4,000 for the property industry charity, LandAid.
Talking about the expedition, Russell said: “The whole experience was amazing. Reaching the summit was a fantastic sense of achievement and you certainly learn a bit about yourself along the way. We completed the challenge in eight days, during which time I lost a stone and a half in weight. I’ve taken part in some climbing before but this trip provided a great opportunity to combine a passion with my career.”
