It doesn’t take much to make a sandwich
August 23, 2018.
But sandwiches are all it takes to stop Aussie kids going hungry at school.
It’s hard to believe, but there are many young Aussies who go to school each day without any lunch. 10.9% of Australian children live in poverty and around one in eight Australian children arrive to school hungry and without food.
And that’s not really fair, is it?
With the generous help and lunch-making skills of dedicated volunteers, Eat Up makes and delivers thousands of lunches a month to disadvantaged children at 271 schools around Australia and growing!
In an effort to contribute, RLB made 1,179 sandwiches in 46 minutes at a sandwich making session this week.
These became lunches for kids in Victorian schools who otherwise would have missed out.
