RLB supports IM group in move to landmark HQ

RLB has been involved in the launch of the new £30m state-of-the-art Headquarters of the IM Group, the Midlands-based property, car and finance business and one of the UK’s most successful mid-size companies.

The new HQ, known as The Gate at Fore Business Park, Solihull, is believed to rival any office previously seen outside of the capital.  It boasts a 60,000 sq ft state-of-the-art campus, with wellbeing at its heart, utilises cutting edge technology and forward-thinking design to help futureproof the business and has become a major landmark on the M42.

RLB provided Project Management, Cost Management and Principal Designer services to the project for IM Group, that are a long-term client of RLB having worked for them for the last 20 years across numerous schemes.

Tim Wooldridge, managing director of IMP added: “The headquarters are a superb example of all the greatest elements of design that goes into creating a landmark building that people will enjoy working in and we needed to ensure we had the best team to deliver this vision. We have worked with RLB for a number of years now and know the team and their standards match ours. We were delighted to have them on board as one of the key partners in this project.”

Jason Jasper, UK project director at IMP, who led the team added: “We had a two-year window to find a location and design and deliver this £30m turnkey project, which to some may have appeared a near impossible task due to its scale and level of detail. The new HQ really does work hard to exceed expectations on every level from its low carbon footprint to the high specification and integrity of its materials, creating a landmark campus with a feeling of openness, drama and maturity”.

“It’s been a real journey,” added Jason “And has been achieved thanks to the buy in and the commitment of our long-established, trusted supply chain with partners like RLB. We got the job done without compromise within a tight timescale, on budget and to the highest quality. Everyone definitely went the extra mile.”

Mike Lally, Partner, RLB, continues, “It’s been an amazing project to be involved with on all levels – the size and scale, the innovation, the level of detail. The project successfully combines best practice from base build and fit out design to create a truly exceptional workplace that will not only be a great space for those working in it today, but agile to adapt to those working in it in the years to come.”
