RLB UK Building Surveyor clinches top spot in global fire safety exam

RLB UK Building Surveyor, Cathie Wilson, is celebrating having achieved the highest overall mark in the world in the IFE Level 3 Certificate in Passive Fire Protection, an OFQUAL backed qualification jointly developed by the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP).

Cathie was one of 9 RLB colleagues who all passed the Level 3 certification examination taken earlier this year. Congratulations also go to Joe Campbell, Dan Duce, Kate McKenzie, Adam Wood, Sam Caborn, Amy Sykes, Dan Cooke and James Edmunds.

Steven Reynolds, RLB Partner, and Head of Fire Safety, said: “This is a tremendous achievement from Cathie, scoring the highest mark globally in such an important qualification shows her dedication to fire safety and is a source of real pride for us. This is a key milestone for RLB and demonstrates our commitment and expertise in fire safety. Congratulations to all those who received their Level Three qualification.”

Phil Brownhill, Head of Training, ASFP, comments: “I would like to add our congratulations on behalf of the IFE and ASFP to Cathie on scoring the highest overall mark, standards were very high so it is a fantastic accomplishment in a very important area of fire safety.”

Passive fire protection is a vital component of any fire safety strategy. It is built into the structure of a building to safeguard people’s lives and limit the financial impact of damage to buildings and their contents.
