RLB has released the 2019 edition of Perspective, a compilation of insights from members of the RLB team around the world.
In 2017 the firm released a video to commemorate its tenth anniversary.

1785
The pioneering spirit of RLB can be traced back to when Henry Cooper opens a firm of Quantity Surveyors in Reading, England.

1850
With a second office now open in London, the firm carries out engineering projects under the direction of I.K. Brunel, the famous Victorian Civil Engineer.

1895
Henry Cooper’s grandsons sell the London practice to John Rider Hunt. A partnership agreement is signed between the London practice and the original practice in Reading.

1910
John Rider Hunt passes away and the London firm is renamed Rider Hunt and Partners. The firm later opens offices in provincial centres throughout England.

1947
Bucknall Austin first opens in the United Kingdom, and has since successfully grown to over 350 people with offices throughout the UK.

1949
Rider Hunt and Partners’ first overseas office is opened in Melbourne, Australia, by Harry Wexler.

1962
Levett & Bailey establish as a local firm of chartered quantity surveyors in Hong Kong. From a modest beginning, the practice grows with the economic expansion of Hong Kong to become one of the largest in the world, with branch offices throughout China.

1972
Rider Hunt and Levett & Bailey partner to establish a Singapore office.

1985
Bucknall Austin establishes a base in Saudi Arabia.

1991
Rider Hunt joins forces with Construction Services Limited (CSL), a firm specialising in construction cost estimating, to form Rider Hunt Levett & Bailey. (CSL was founded by Jack Matthews in Hawaii in 1968 and operated throughout the Pacific in places such as Guam, Diego Garcia, Kwajalein, and the Philippines).

2003
Bucknall Austin joins forces with a local practice in Barbados and establishes their first Caribbean office.

2007
Rider Hunt, Levett & Bailey, and Bucknall Austin partner to form Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB).
RLB establishes an office in Dubai. Offices subsequently open in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Muscat and Riyadh.

2008
The RLB | Euro Alliance is formed – extending Rider Levett Bucknall’s reach across 22 European countries.

2011
Based in the Philippines, Rider Hunt Liacor joins Rider Levett Bucknall.

2013
RLB team up with Pentad to enter the African market.
The alliance between RLB and Schumann Consult is established.

2014
Toronto-based CRSP Cost Consultants joins Rider Levett Bucknall.

RLB celebrates ten years as a global practice. More than 3,600 people offer a variety of construction consulting services on every continent.
