CAMPUS REGENERATION, STOCKPORT COLLEGE

RLB was appointed to provide project management, quantity surveying and CDM coordinator services for the transformational redevelopment of the Stockport College campus.

The project is a cornerstone of the merger between Trafford and Stockport Colleges. The newly created Trafford College Group identified that investment was required on Stockport College’s Wellington Road campus to upgrade poor quality buildings and address changes in curriculum demands
RLB was appointed as lead consultant at the commencement of the project and has assisted the College to achieve funding awards, develop the design through to planning and secure a contractor for the project.
The project will see the demolition and partial demolition of several existing buildings to make way for the new “Street” building, while allowing for the creation of external courtyard areas to improve the connectivity of the campus. A new Business Hub will be created within the “Street” which will host seminars and workshops by leaders of industry to inspire the students.
Other works include the refurbishments of Lyme and Vernon Towers to provide improved teaching and learning environments. In addition, several teaching facilities will be created in Lyme Tower to accommodate specialist subjects such as science, hairdressing and beauty.
