EDITH GREEN WENDELL WYATT PORTLAND

Home to more than 16 federal agencies and 1,200 federal employees, the renovated Edith Green Wendell Wyatt Federal building in Portland, Oregon is an 18 story, 525,000 SF facility.

This project was funded under the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and was re-scoped to align with energy performance requirements of the ARRA funding and the President’s Executive Order.
RLB provided cost estimating services as well as Life Cycle Cost Analysis.
The project team, composed of GSA representatives, the design team and the CMGC team evaluated various energy efficient features for the renovation. Several examples included studies related to the building envelope, photovoltaic systems, grey water systems, stormwater storage, and hydronic systems vs standard HVAC. This project was completed using Integrated Project Delivery and leveraging building information modeling, and is now considered one of the most energy efficient office buildings in the country.
