NCAR WYOMING SUPERCOMPUTING CENTER

The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), collaborated to construct a world-class supercomputing data center dedicated to advancing scientists' understanding of climate, weather, and other earth and atmospheric processes.

This three-story, 153,000 SF facility contains some of the world’s most powerful supercomputers, including the new 1.6-petaflops Yellowstone system, and a premier data storage and archival facility.
Developed in partnership with the University of Wyoming, the State of Wyoming, the National Science Foundation, Cheyenne LEADS, the Wyoming Business Council, and Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power.
RLB prepared the initial construction budget, followed by progressively more detailed milestone construction cost estimates throughout the design phase. We also developed the overall project schedule.
Prior to construction, RLB compared and reconciled with the selected contractor’s construction cost estimate.
