Overview
Opened in 2006, the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art was built as an addition to the Queensland Art Gallery, to house modern artworks and exhibitions. It also provides receiving and handling facilities, archiving and storage, workshops, two small cinemas, café, bistro and gallery retail. The building features an extensive roof overhang, which, together with screens and louvres, provides effective sun shading to vulnerable facades.
