The Design
World renowned architect Zaha Hadid used an irregular building geometry to maximise spatial configuration within a tight space. Unique features include a curved profile curtain wall system, together with three-dimensional twisted aluminium fins on the facades.
The Details
The project involved the construction of a 15-storey building, which houses the School of Design for the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation. Facilities include a lecture hall, ten classrooms, design studios and workshops, offices, a design museum, exhibition galleries and a communal viewing lounge.
