Giving back to the communities in which we live and work
In line with our global values, we work to do good. We believe we should make a long-lasting positive impact on our communities and our planet.
We demonstrate this commitment through a wide variety of corporate social responsibility initiatives undertaken by our colleagues around the world.
We’re proud of their remarkable generosity and strong dedication to supporting charities and good causes.

Colleagues help out at local preschool
RLB employees from our Cape Town and Stellenbosch offices joined an outreach initiative at Akkerland Preschool in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, to help create a safer, more stimulating space for the children.
We supported the wider project through procurement assistance and, on the volunteer day, carried out repairs, tended the gardens and spent time playing with the children. Partnering with industry peers, the initiative enhanced the learning environment and delivered meaningful improvements for the 32 children the school serves.

Alleviating hunger in vulnerable communities
Colleagues from our Phoenix office and family members came together in Mesa, Arizona, for a hands-on corporate social responsibility event at Feed My Starving Children. The group packed MannaPack Rice meals – nutritious, shelf-stable food designed to combat hunger in vulnerable communities worldwide.
Working side by side, the volunteers carefully measured, sealed and boxed meals for international distribution. By the end of the event, the team had packed 80 boxes, totalling 17,280 meals, providing a year’s worth of food for 47 children.
The meals were shipped to communities in the Philippines and Honduras. For many children in these regions, school-based meal programmes are their most reliable source of nutrition, supporting both health and access to education.

Our volunteers bring smiles and support
A team of volunteers from our Hong Kong office visited Ronald McDonald House in Kwun Tong, which supports families with seriously ill children. During the visit, our colleagues cheered up resident families with engaging games, songs, and creative craft activities where children made their own musical instruments.
RLB also donated essential food supplies to Ronald McDonald House, which serves as a vital sanctuary for families in need.

Paid volunteering day for every employee
Every employee of RLB in the UK is granted an annual paid volunteering day – known as a CSR Day – which they can use to help an environmental or social project that resonates with them personally, as part of a team building day giving back to a local community, or to support an event organised by RLB.
We have set a target for 60% of employees to use their CSR Day and are actively promoting the initiative to increase participation. In 2024, our colleagues dedicated over 4,800 hours to volunteering for diverse and deserving causes within our communities, participating in a wide range of activities, and raising more than £47,000 for local, national and international charities.

A helping hand to those in need
Every year during Ramadan our colleagues in Dubai come together to pack care packages for the city’s labourers, in partnership with Companies for Good. These packages contain essential hygiene products, providing much-needed support to these hardworking individuals in our community.

Support for colleagues impacted by typhoon
Typhoon Kalmaegi, on the back of earlier typhoons and a major earthquake, caused severe damage across Cebu in the Philippines. More than 30 of our colleagues lost their homes, and many have been deeply affected.
Cora Ballard, Chair and President of RLB in the Philippines, and the Cebu leadership team, coordinated relief efforts, providing food, water and essential supplies to our people and their communities.
Across RLB, the response was also immediate and generous. Our businesses in Oceania, Asia, North America and Europe contributed support to emergency needs and helped our Cebu team begin the long process of rebuilding.
Our Cebu team is part of our global family and we stand with them as they recover and rebuild.
