DUJA TOWER

Evaluating cladding risks and costs for fire safety improvements

DUBAI, UAE

DUJA TOWER

Duja Tower is a B4+G+52 residential tower that sits in a prominent position along Sheikh Zayed Road.

On 20 February 2020, the building experienced a fire which spread via the ACP cladding and open cavity, causing accelerated fire spread and damaging large areas of the external facade.

RLB were appointed to provide a technical audit report which examined the cladding installed versus that specified, and provide a commercial assessment of the cost of rectifying the damaged areas of the facade as well as replacing the remaining cladding to remove future risk of fire.
