Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) congratulates Ipswich City Council on the success of Tulmur Place, winner of the Award for Best Public Building or Social Infrastructure at the 2025 Property Council / RLB Innovation & Excellence Awards.

Winner: Award for Best Public Building or Social Infrastructure

Project: Tulmur Place – Nicholas Street Precinct, Ipswich City Council

At the centre of Ipswich’s $300 million Nicholas Street Precinct renewal, Tulmur Place has redefined the city’s heart as a vibrant civic space for culture, commerce and connection. The development includes two libraries, council offices, retail and event spaces that reconnect community life to the city centre

RLB supported the project from its earliest planning stages, providing independent cost management, advisory and value analysis through delivery. Drawing on its extensive experience in civic and mixed-use developments, RLB helped Council turn a vision of revitalisation into reality, balancing ambition with accountability.

“Tulmur Place is a city-changing project. Council’s vision and the creativity of the design team were the real inspiration, and we’re proud RLB could play our part in bringing that to life.”

By championing trust and transparency, RLB helped deliver a precinct that honours First Nations heritage and invites all residents to gather, celebrate and thrive. Tulmur Place now stands as a model for urban renewal that blends cultural identity with economic growth.

As Principal Sponsor of the Property Council’s Innovation & Excellence Awards for over 40 years, RLB continues to celebrate projects like Tulmur Place that demonstrate the power of collaboration and public vision.
