This week, RLB joins Australia in observing National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June) — a time to reflect on shared histories, celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and commit to meaningful action.

The timing is particularly significant for RLB this year, with the recent formal endorsement of our inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan by Reconciliation Australia. We join more than 3,000 organisations nationally that have made a structured commitment to reconciliation through the RAP program.

The 2026 NRW campaign was created in collaboration with Carbon Creative, a First Nations-owned marketing and creative agency. The artwork, Gaagal (meaning Ocean in Gumbaynggirr language), was created by Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung artist Otis Hope Carey.

Otis describes his inspiration:

This artwork uses the ocean as a metaphor for people from all walks of life swirling together to be ‘all in’ for reconciliation… Concentric circles represent water and the way it moves in ripples — echoing the action of people moving together for change, their voices and actions rippling outwards, inviting others on the reconciliation journey.

Guided by our values of Truth, Trust, Together and Tomorrow, our Reflect RAP outlines how we will strengthen cultural awareness, build relationships with First Nations communities and businesses, and create pathways for First Nations peoples within the property and construction industry.
