BISIE TIN PROJECT

Located approximately 180 kilometres north-west of Goma, the capital of the North Kivu Province in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, and 60 kilometres from the Walikale Centre is one of the world’s biggest tin deposits, the Bisie Tin Project.

The project consists of two high-grade tin deposits, namemly Mpama North and Mpama South.
The Bisie Tin Project comprises a 360 kilotons-per-annum processing plant, producing 9,000 tons of tin per annum. It further includes a 36-kilometre access road to the site, a 2.4 kilometre airstrip cut into lush tropical vegetation, a pollution control dam, mechanical and piping installations of a 30,000 tons-per-month concentrator plant, tailings storage facility and camp amenities for construction workers.
