Throughout its history, Rider Levett Bucknall has constantly sought to expand its operations across the world through strategic partnerships with industry leaders. The latest landmark in our quest to deliver a consistent service to our clients across all continents is the creation of RLB Hoolooman, a partnership between our South African subsidiary, RLB Pentad, and leading Mauritian Quantity Surveying firm Hooloomann & Associates.

This new partnership, which materialised on 22 November, during an event held in the scenic gardens of the Château Labourdonnais in the North of Mauritius, will allow us to leverage on both companies’ expertise and know-how as well as their in-depth knowledge of their respective markets to enhance our offerings in a bid to meet growing demands from the construction industry in Africa and the Indian Ocean.

‘Rider Levett Bucknall is a name that is now closely associated with many landmark buildings around the world, the Sydney Opera House in Australia, the HSBC head office in Hong-Kong, the famous City Center in Las Vegas, Disneyland Shanghai and the London 2012 Olympic Stadium, to name a few. Today, with the RLB Hooloomann partnership, we can be more focused on the needs of the industry in Africa, with its fast-growing economies and bubbling construction industry. We are really proud to be working with the Hooloomann team, which has become a regional reference in quantity surveying and project management, and we are confident that the partnership will reinforce our brand as well as our expertise, especially in emerging markets,’ says Stephen Mee, Chairman of Rider Levett Bucknall.

Navin Hooloomann, CEO of the newly-created RLB Hooloomann, says this milestone in the history of the company he founded over 30 years ago is testament to the service excellence that has characterised their operations over the years. ‘Blending our corporate mindset with that of RLB will definitely help us achieve even greater things from now on, especially since RLB Pentad already has an impressive footprint on the African continent. With our regional expertise in the Indian Ocean, I am convinced that we will be able to deliver world-class services and support African economies in their path towards new, sustainable growth,’ he adds.

RLB Hooloomann is a team of 60 professionals who have led major construction projects in Mauritius, Africa, the Seychelles and Sri Lanka, including hotels, luxury residential and commercial estates. The company has taken over the RLB Pentad Mauritius office, which was set up in 2009, and now comprises of four additional QS and Project Management professionals.

The partnership event held on 22 November was attended by prestigious guests, including the CEOs of our Australia, UK and Hong Kong/China operations, as well as local dignitaries and industry partners.
