Rider Levett Bucknall is pleased to announce the promotions of key personnel in its North America group.

ERIN KIRIHARA

Erin Kirihara is now Senior Vice President. In her new role Erin will direct all aspects of the RLB Honolulu office with responsibilities that include management of client relations and project oversight, business development and financial administration, operational management and strategic growth for the Hawaii region. Erin also serves as the newest member to the firm’s North American Board of Directors.

Throughout her 15-year career with RLB, Erin has managed numerous new build and renovation projects. With specialized expertise in hospitality, residential and commercial sectors; Erin has successfully managed a portfolio of projects that exceeds $3 billion in value.

She is a lifelong resident of Hawaii and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Chaminade University of Honolulu.

JOEL BROWN MRICS, LEED AP

Joel Brown is now Principal. Joel has a keen understanding of the review, analysis, and negotiation of construction costs and schedules, across all types of project delivery methods.

Working out of the San Jose office, Joel is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantity Surveying from University of Abertay, Dundee, Scotland.

CATHY SEWELL

Cathy Sewell is now Principal. Starting with RLB in 2005, she manages business development and marketing for North America. Over the course of her career, Cathy has played a fundamental role in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to strengthen the firm’s name recognition and grow the business. Cathy holds a MBA in Marketing and Management from Hawaii Pacific University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kent State University. She has served as a judge for the Society of Marketing Professional Services’ “National Striving for Excellence” and “National Marketing Communications” awards and co-founded the organization’s Hawaii chapter in 2007.

CASSIE IDEHARA

Cassie Idehara is now Associate Principal. She joined RLB in 2005 and works out of the Honolulu office. Cassie’s field of expertise focuses on Quantity Surveying, including, estimating and cost control, feasibility studies, cost modeling, elemental cost analysis, bid analysis, value engineering, due diligence, replacement cost assessment and review of monthly payment applications. Cassie earned a Bachelor of Building/Quantity Surveying degree for the University of South Australia and is a certified construction manager and a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

CHRIS MCCARTHY

Chris McCarthy is now Associate Principal. An expert in cost management across a multitude of sectors, he has been with RLB since 2004. Based in Denver, he has played a major role developing and testing the firm’s ROSS 5D software. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management the University of Memphis.

MICHAEL O’REILLY

Michael O’Reilly is now Associate Principal. An integral member of the Boston office team, Michael joined RLB in 2010. A Certified Cost Professional, he manages all areas of construction costs, including budget controls from design through construction, bid and CM/QS reconciliations, change order management, value engineering, and risk analysis. Michael received a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Construction Management from the Queensland University of Technology.

DAVE POWERS

Dave Powers is now Associate Principal. Based in the Phoenix office, he has advised clients in planning, development, and management of construction-phase activities all the way through to activation and stabilization of facilities. Dave brings over 25 years of project management experience, both within and outside of the construction industry. He is skilled in managing highly complex projects. With RLB since 2007, Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economic and Accounting degree from Rutgers University.

JAMES CASEY

James Casey is now Associate. Originally joining RLB’s Brisbane, Australia office in 2007, James has become a valuable member of the RLB North American team, gaining significant experience in all aspects of quantity surveying, providing services on a broad range of complex and varied projects. Based in the San Francisco office, James manages the cost consulting service for that location, while also providing cost estimating and management services at all project stages. With over twelve years’ experience working on various projects across the USA and Australia, he has excellent attention to detail and always develops workable solutions to meet project objectives within set timeframes. James received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Quantity Surveying degree from Queensland Institute of Technology.

SCOTT USHER

Scott Usher is now Associate. A chartered member of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, candidate member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, he started his career with RLB in 2015, moving from the Brisbane, Australia office before relocating to the Portland office. Specializing in estimating, cost planning, and post-contract services. With a trade-qualified background in carpentry, Scott has a unique set of skills that assist in giving a particular insight over a diverse range and size of projects. Scott’s professional skills include cost planning, construction cost estimating, preparation of bills of quantities, tender valuation & assessment, progress payment assessment, variation management, contract management, feasibility studies and project management. Scott holds a Bachelor of Urban Development/Quantity Surveying degree with Honors from Queensland University of Technology.
