MASHPEE PUBLIC LIBRARY
This 21,900 SF building replaces the existing library on a site in Mashpee Commons.
A web-based weather station in the lobby helps to educate the public about sustainable features within the building, by allowing real-time interactive display of the energy savings and production elements.
Green features include a chilled beam mechanical system, an extensive rooftop 20-kilowatt-hour photovoltaic system, low-water-consumption plantings, and an on-site stormwater management system, including a bioswale garden to filter storm-water runoff.
This project has received LEED Silver certification.
