SALEM INTERMODAL STATION, MASSACHUSETTS BAY TRANSIT AUTHORITY

The new Salem Intermodal Station sits on top of the former historic rail yard, locomotive roundhouse, and turntable dating back to the late 1800s.

Awarded for its innovative design, the new station is welcoming and fully accessible. Features include a 690-space, five-level parking structure for electric cars, motorcycles and bicycles.
Improvements include station upgrades and an at-grade bus platform, taxi lane and pickup/drop off areas, ADA compliance elevators, pedestrian sidewalks and a pedestrian bridge.
Awarded a 2015 PCI Design Award for Best All Precast Concrete Parking Structure.
RLB provided construction cost management services for this project to Fennick McCredie Architects Ltd.
