UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS CHAMPIONS CENTER
The University of Massachusetts Champions Center is home to both the university’s men’s and women’s varsity basketball teams.
The 56,000 square-foot basketball development center provides identical practice courts, team room, and an administrative center for each program. Other amenities include weight training space, a nutrition center, a VIP lounge, a conference room, a sports medicine center, and the prominent ‘Legacy Hall’ (of Fame).
Designed to meet LEED Gold standards, it includes many sustainable design features such as waste and water management, and utilizes a significant portion of natural light to reduce energy use. About 75% of construction waste was recycled or salvaged during the construction process. The building also boasts water efficient plumbing filters.
