WYOMING WELCOME CENTER

This 26,500 square-foot facility, north of the Wyoming-Colorado border, serves as a gateway for tourism, the state's number two industry behind energy.

The new welcome center serves as a museum, with exhibits that explore Wyoming’s natural beauty, frontier past, and renewable-energy future. One such display includes a full-size Columbian mammoth.
Surrounding the welcome center are natural wetlands with native plants, providing an outdoor learning landscape, with trails and site structures encouraging interaction with Wyoming’s rich ecology.
The architecture is made of steel, concrete, and rammed earth, featuring high-performance windows and a skin that incorporates photovoltaics.
