RLB was proud to attend the formal opening of the Morialta Secondary College today with the Honourable Peter Malinauskas, Premier and the Honourable Blair Boyer, Minister for Education, Training and Skills and the Foundation Principal, Roley Coulter.

The new $88 million purpose-built co-educational government school first opened for year 7 students in 2023 upon completion of stage 1. With stage 2 now complete the college can cater for up to 1200 students across flexible indoor and outdoor learning spaces supported by state-of-the-art technology to deliver modern pedagogy principles.

RLB was integral in the early 2021 ‘rapid’ business case providing cost estimates for the option scenarios and the Department for Education analysis of existing school infrastructure, new school zonings and demographic needs.

RLB worked closely with the project team on the fast-tracked review costing options for partial refurbishment and rebuild or a full new build from architectural block planning and preliminary high-level engineering options.

RLB prepared a benchmarking analysis on government schools and a capital expenditure cost plan for various options.

The Morialta Secondary College delivers an innovative, learning environment with a performing arts centre, gymnasium, library, gallery, and café, alongside contemporary indoor and outdoor learning spaces and sports ovals and courts.

RLB delivered skilled advice to stretch each dollar further throughout the project lifecycle, from preliminary cost planning to value engineering, materials selection to post-contract services.

The RLB team included Tom Bernard, Sam Martin and John Drillis supported by an expert team of cost consultants, engineering services cost managers and public realm and civil estimators.
