RLB in Christchurch recently volunteered to help out in the kitchen at the local Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). The RLB team served up a sumptuous BBQ with a variety of salads for the residents.

RMHC support families when their child is in a New Zealand hospital away from home. They take care of the practical things in life so families can focus on their child staying in a hospital away from home.

RLB in Christchurch is proud to support such a worthy cause.

Chefs extraordinaire Chris Perrins, Tom Chatterton, Richard Warnock, James Linnane, Matthew Darwent and Tjaart Grove bought, prepared and cooked the meals over an afternoon and evening. The residents and staff were very complimentary and grateful for the team’s efforts. The day was rounded out with a tour of the facility and promises to return to cook again.

Every year RMHC offer 3,700 families across New Zealand accommodation and support free of charge. This helps to relieve stresses like paying for a place to sleep near the hospital, cooking family meals and needing a friendly ear to listen on tough days.

They are part of a global network which is over 40 years old with RMHC houses operating in over 40 countries.
