CANBERRA LIGHT RAIL
Capital Metro, Canberra’s new light rail network, represents the most significant transportation infrastructure project ever undertaken by the ACT Government
It supports their vision of delivering a truly sustainable and creative city by changing and improving transport options.
RLB provided services on the successful bid for the first stage of the rail network, the 12-kilometre corridor from Gungahlin Town Centre to Canberra’s Civic Centre. Consortium members include Pacific Partnerships, CPB Contractors, John Holland, Mitsubishi Corporation, Aberdeen Infrastructure Investments, Deutsche Bahn International and CAF.
Once completed, Canberra Metro will deliver 12 kilometres of light rail track, 13 stops, 14 light rail vehicles, a depot and 20 years of operation and maintenance – linking Canberra’s northern suburbs to the central business district.
