Delivering Australia’s largest beachfront mixed-use development

With an absolute beachfront location, the Jewel towers are an iconic, architecturally distinct landmark in the Gold Coast skyline. RLB worked extensively throughout all development stages of this residential and retail resort precinct to provide cost planning, tender documentation, and post-contract services.

Comprised of three towers, constructed simultaneously, this ambitious project required rigorous cost planning and diligent attention to detail to carefully balance cost, quality, and design requirements.

Inspired by the crystalline volcanic hook that forms the underlying structure at the coastline, Jewel was designed as part of a collaboration between Oppenheim Architects and DBI. The complex includes 512 apartments, 169 hotel rooms, three podium levels dedicated to hotel functions, restaurants, retail tenancies and a conference centre. It also achieves a 5-star Green Star Building rating by incorporating sophisticated façade technologies to ensure shading from the sun and shelter from the wind.
