SUSTAINABLE INDUSTRIES EDUCATION CENTRE (SIEC)
The SIEC project is greater than a simple, adaptive re-use. It transforms an industrial building into creative opportunities for teaching, learning and innovation.
As a primary design principle, the structure was retained, where possible.
The design elements provide a visually enhanced learning experience for the students.
A major challenge was bringing five outdated facilities into one significant facility. The project delivers a sustainable built outcome with efficiencies in operational and recurrent costs.
RLB provided cost planning from Master Plan to Contract Award, including trade bills of quantities, contract negotiation, contract administration, and life cycle costing.
