SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE – VEHICLE ACCESS AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY (VAPS)

Stanley Jones, founder of RLB's Sydney office, worked with Joern Utzon and Ove Arup on the original construction of the Sydney Opera House (SOH).

Our partnership with the SOH dates back more than 50 years. Not only as part of the team that conceived and delivered this Australian icon, but also in developing the 2006 and 2007 Total Asset Management plans.

In recent years, RLB has been a key advisor to the Vehicle and Pedestrian Safety Project (VAPS).

This is the largest single capital works program undertaken since the building opened in 1973.

A major challenge was keeping the venue fully operational and without disruption throughout performances.

RLB provided conceptual cost planning, design development, cost management, procurement strategies, post contract services and advisory.
