Redeveloping a historic building into innovative, vibrant commercial offices

THE MASON BROTHERS OFFICE – WYNYARD QUARTER

As part of the Precinct Properties Wynyard Quarter Innovation Precinct, the Mason Brothers building began life as Mason Bros Engineering Co. Ltd, an engineering and ship building firm in the 1920s.

The daring Warren and Mahoney upgrade elicits the rich industrial heritage of the site, which is just a short walk from the Waitemata Harbour.

Retention of the dramatic saw-tooth roof and exposure and restoration of the original brickwork contribute to the building’s innovative character.

This contemporary space features wide floor plates offering both flexibility and functionality.

The existing structure has been retained, as well as most of the salvageable building fabric. Exposed services and structural systems add undeniable character to this 5 Green Star and NABERNZ-rated, energy-efficient, remarkable historic building.
