UNIVERSITY OF AUCKLAND 301/302 SCIENCE CENTRE
This $200 million redevelopment is part of the ten-year campus renewal plan, to bring the university's facilities up to the highest standard.
The major Science Centre redevelopment will provide advanced research and teaching facilities for the Faculty of Science and a new entranceway to the university.
Refurbishment of Buildings 303, 301 and the new Building 302, provides the University of Auckland with 38,000 square metres of new and upgraded space.
Building B302 is the first in New Zealand to use tested buckling-restraint braces (BRB’s) imported from the USA.
Introduction of new link bridges between the refurbished and 24,000 square metre new science building has improved connectivity between buildings.
RLB provided full quantity surveying and cost management services across 15 separate projects.
We were heavily involved with the main, façade and mechanical contractors at the design development stage. This required accurate cost planning and budget control to give the client the confidence to proceed prior to full cost certainty.
