This NZ$42 million Plaza Building's design focuses on creating a key social space within the wider campus, as well as providing much-needed academic and gymnasium space
The new Foundation Studies facility provides modern methods of teaching and learning, with large atria breakout spaces and informal learning areas
The Unipol Gymnasium facilities include two gyms, two cardio weights areas, and a large multi-purpose space for team sports.
The full-height design of the building’s four-storey atrium provides access to academic spaces, recreational facilities and a café, and visually promotes social interaction.
The shared stadium wall had to be completed in time for the 2011 Rugby World Cup, requiring a fast-track program with separate enabling packages.
RLB in Otago provided quantity surveying and cost management services.
