In the running for the Procore Award for Development Innovation at the 2021 Property Council of Australia/Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards is Melbourne Quarter located in the Southern Cross precinct of Melbourne and The Beach Shack in Scarborough in Western Australia.

With a value of $2.9 billion, Lendlease’s Melbourne Quarter (MQ) is one of the city’s most innovative and sustainable urban regeneration developments yet.

RLB Director, Ewen McDonald, who led the team providing cost management and quantity surveying on Melbourne Quarter said the project embraces dynamic ways of working and living.

“MQ confirms the State government’s commitment to regenerating the CBD and helping the city retain its status as one of the world’s most liveable metropolises.”

Thinking outside the box

RLB Director, Adam Robinson, said The Beach Shack in Western Australia is not only one of the most environmentally friendly, but also one of the most technologically advanced.

“The developers of the Beach Shack had their eyes on the needs of their future residents from an early stage in the project,” said Adam.

“The development provides residents with access to technology, such as EV chargers and mobile intercoms, that you do not always see in multi-residential apartment projects in Perth.”

The 2021 winners will be announced on Wednesday 15 December at the ICC Sydney.

In 2022 we celebrate 40 years of the Property Council of Australia/Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation & Excellence Awards.
