From Australia’s largest timber commercial building to Brisbane’s first five-star hotel in two decades, Queensland has 16 projects in the running for prestigious national property awards.

The Queensland finalists are among 132 national finalists announced ahead of the 2020 Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards.

The awards program, now in its 38th year in partnership with RLB, showcases innovative projects, pioneering solutions and inspiring leadership in Australia’s property industry.

300 George Street

Stage 1 of Brisbane Quarter at 300 George Street, which includes the W Hotel, is vying for the Pure Projects Award for Best Tourism & Leisure Development.

‘Stage 1 of the $1 billion Brisbane Quarter development features Brisbane’s first five-star hotel in 20 years. This is a truly landmark project that will enhance our city and boost its status as an economic and cultural hub on the world stage, said RLB’s Managing Director, David Stewart.

900 Ann Street

Fortitude Valley’s 900 Ann Street is a finalist in the Best Office Development category.

‘This commercial building, home to 1,500 professionals, brings together world-first technology, impressive sustainability credentials and cutting-edge workplace design,’ David says.

RLB worked on both Brisbane Quarter and 900 Ann Street, and also provided commercial certainty towards Aurecon’s Brisbane Office Fitout, a finalist for Best Workplace Project.

Rider Levett Bucknall Australian Development of the Year award

All Queensland development finalists are in the running for the QLD Development of the Year and the industry’s most coveted prize – the Rider Levett Bucknall Australian Development of the Year award.

Reward and Recognition

‘RLB has proudly co-hosted these awards since 1982. Over the last 38 years, the awards have become an important platform to recognise and reward the people and companies building great cities and communities,’ David concludes.

Gala Dinner

National award winners will be announced at the 2020 Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards Gala Dinner, to be held at the ICC Sydney Convention Centre on Friday 15 May 2020. Tickets are now on sale.
