The restored auditorium in the Christchurch Town Hall opened to the public for the first time in eight years in late February and marks the completion of six years of work by the client team to bring the building back to public use.

Christchurch band Shapeshifter was the first act to grace the stage on Friday, performing with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra (CSO).

The stunning restoration is one of the most significant events in the city’s recovery from the 2011 Christchurch earthquake.

The restoration contains all of the buildings original character and style, but is stronger and better equipped to again play its role in the heart of civic and cultural life

RLB provided cost management and quantity surveying services to Christchurch City Council to bring the facility to completion.
