The Fonterra Centre, Auckland, was recognised at this year’s Property Council of New Zealand / Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards, winning both the Hays Commercial Property Excellence Award and the Resene Green Building Property Merit Award.

This is one of 14 RLB projects to be recognised on the evening, having provided cost management and quantity surveying services on the project. The RLB project team was led by Auckland Managing Director, Steve Gracey.

Mr Gracey said, ‘Fonterra’s new head office, a purpose-built premises located in Wynyard Quarter, is an exceptional example of good design, reflecting Fonterra’s environmentally conscious and sustainable approach to business.”

He added, ‘RLB is proud to have partnered with Goodman Property on delivering another successful and sustainable project.’

The Fonterra Centre comprises a 16,000-square-metre, seven-storey office building. It has 193 carparks – 189 of which are located in a 4-level basement, constructed below sea level. The Fonterra Centre provides new purpose-built office premises for Fonterra’s head office functions. The building’s design was completed by Jasmax.

The Property Council New Zealand / Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards celebrate innovation and leading practice within New Zealand’s property development and investment industries.

RLB has partnered with the Property Council New Zealand to present the awards program for more than 18 years.

The 2016 winners were announced on 17 June at a gala dinner at Vector Arena in Auckland, attended by over 1,500 people.
