The impressive new $270 million Sylvia Park Galleria retail expansion opens officially today. The 19,000 square metre retail expansion has been built over the former rooftop level carpark, and provides an additional entire level of retail to the southern part of the mall, including a new department store, new dining areas, and additional escalators and includes the new multi-storey carpark which added a further 900 carparks in early 2020. Huge new skylights span the majority of the mall, providing extensive natural light for shoppers and retailers.
Work began on site in March 2018. With a highly collaborative approach, the project team has successfully delivered a high-quality result in a live environment. Testament to this is the agreement of the Construction Final Account on a traditional 3910 project one day ahead of the project opening.
Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) Senior Quantity Surveyor Bradley Coley worked hard through estimating, staged procurement and the construction phase, providing commercial certainty for Kiwi Property along with Director Geoff Speck.
