Topping out at 50 storeys and soon to open, 88 Walker Street, North Sydney ranks as the tallest mixed-use tower in North Sydney.

Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) is proud to have prepared the head contractors cost plan for our client Billbergia Group: both developer and contractor of the project.

Designed by architects fitzpatrick+partners, 88 Walker Street includes 24 levels of A-grade commercial office space and a 252-key four-star hotel operated by CITADINES, which will be managed by Singapore-based The Ascott Limited.

Two floors of guest amenities will include restaurant, bar, residents’ lounge, gymnasium and reception.

fitzpatrick+partners’ cantilever design allows the building to sit suspended above the heritage-listed former North Sydney Fire Station, increasing the floorspace from about 4,000 square metres to more than 22,800 square metres.

The old fire station was built in 1895 and used by firefighters until soon after World War II.

Congratulations to Billbergia, the project is expected to generate at least 1,000 jobs when completed, including permanent roles within the hotel and retail components.
