Q1 TOWER, SURFERS PARADISE

Upon completion in 2005, Q1 Tower was the world's tallest residential tower complex.

Located in Surfers Paradise on Queensland’s Gold Coast, the 80-storey tower has 527 apartments, more than 1,800 square metres of retail space, and observation decks on levels 79 and 80.

Designed by SDG & The Buchan Group, its form was inspired by the Sydney 2000 Olympic torch and the Sydney Opera House.

RLB provided full quantity surveying services.

2006 RAIA Gold Coast Regional Architecture Award – Building of the Year.
2005 Emporis Skyscraper Award – Silver Award.
