The Brickworks at LynnMall in Auckland took out the top retail gong, by winning the RCG Retail Property Award at the 2016 Property Council of New Zealand / Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards.

This is one of 14 RLB projects to be awarded on the evening, having provided cost management and quantity surveying services on the project. The RLB project team was led by Auckland Director, Geoff Speck.

Mr Speck said, ‘The Brickworks, New Lynn’s newest dining and entertainment precinct has brought the once tired LynnMall back to life.’

‘Kiwi Property Group has achieved an outstanding outcome, providing a fresh and modern facility to the people of New Lynn, while retaining the area’s heritage as the brick-making capital of the country,’ he added.

Inspired by New Lynn’s industrial heritage, ‘The Brickworks’ dining and entertainment development has given Kiwi Property’s LynnMall a new lease on life. The project was designed by The Buchan Group.

Featuring seven dining options plus an eight screen Readings Cinema, the development increased the centre by 4,700 square metres to 37,000 square metres.

The Property Council New Zealand / Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards celebrate innovation and leading practice within New Zealand’s property development and investment industries.

RLB has partnered with the Property Council New Zealand to present the awards program for more than 18 years.

The 2016 winners were announced on 17 June at a gala dinner at Vector Arena in Auckland, attended by over 1,500 people.
