EDGBASTON
In August 2011, Edgbaston Cricket Ground hosted its first international test match, following this £32 million redevelopment.
After the credit crunch hit, RLB played a key role in negotiations to secure funding from Birmingham City Council and Advantage West Midlands.
The development included a new 8,500-seat stand, increasing capacity to 25,000, with associated conferencing and banqueting facilities.
Executive and Members’ Lounges, hospitality boxes, media suites, player and match official facilities, exhibition space, a replacement club shop and new visitors’ centre were also added.
Permanent floodlighting was installed, so the club could host more day to night events.
RLB provided cost consultancy and project management advice, ensuring the project was completed on time and within budget.
