RLB is excited to announce the new Science Centre is targeted to open in 2027, as revealed in a press release by the Science Centre Board, together with the Ministry of Education (MOE).

The new Science Centre is designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, in collaboration with Architects 61, and is inspired by the natural landscape and lake at Jurong Lake Gardens.

The iconic design consists of five interlocking rectangular blocks with large glass windows offering stunning yet strategic views of the lake, capitalizing on its waterfront location. It optimizes the use of the surrounding landscape, creating a structure that appears to float above the parkland and lake while defining outdoor gardens and courtyards.

With sustainability in mind, the new Science Centre aims to be a Super Low Energy building. It will adopt green technologies and intelligent building management systems to reduce energy use, as well as educate visitors on sustainability practices such as vertical farming systems through programs and exhibitions.

RLB is excited to be part of the development of this new Singapore icon.
