Shanghai Tower, RLB’s landmark project, was awarded the ‘Best Tall Building Worldwide’ at the 15th Annual Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Awards Ceremony on 3 November 2016, at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago.

Shanghai Tower was selected at the end of a year-long process, out of 132 entries from 27 countries around the globe.

The innovative design is based on the traditional Shanghai architecture style of blending indoor and outdoor areas. The double-glass façade boosts sustainability, and the tapering spiral shape at the top was designed to minimise wind loads. Recognised as one of the world’s greenest skyscrapers, Shanghai Tower achieved LEED Platinum certification.

RLB is proud to have provided full quantity surveying services for the tallest skyscraper in China. Julian Anderson, President of RLB in North America, accepted the award at the ceremony.
