Jointly organised by Architectural Services Department (ArchSD) and Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), the Project Cost Data DeCode Hackathon aims to inspire innovative solutions for enhancement of project cost estimation.

A total of eight participating teams, which mainly came from IT companies, were selected to provide solutions to a number of themes including “Project Cost Estimation”, “Project Cost Trend”, “Project Cost Data Analysis” and “Innovation in ArchSD”. RLB was invited to join the mentor groups formed by ArchSD and supporting organisations.

During the six-month mentorship programme (January to June 2020), regular mentor meetings were held for sharing quantity surveying experience and guiding participating teams to provide solutions to different themes.

On 23 June, the final presentation of the Hackathon was concluded successfully at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. Our Director H.K. Yu and Associate Director H.L. Ip, the members of the mentorship programme, were invited to attend the final presentation. RLB was also presented “Best Mentor” (Innovation) award.
