Tom Giddings, Associate Architectural Technician
I would agree that I’m not your usual apprentice. After retiring from my swimming career, I harnessed my focus and drive to achieve my goals and overcome obstacles, build on my experience, broaden my skill set and, most importantly, produce high-quality work from concept to handover. I have found a new passion and the construction sector has welcomed me in my second career.
Rebecca Humphrey, Apprentice Cost Manager, Sheffield
I got my MSc in Quantity Surveying at Nottingham Trent University. Now that I’m qualified, I’m mapping out my personal career development plan and taking advantage of the ongoing opportunities for career development at RLB. Through RLB’s Protégé Programme I’ve been able to develop and apply both the technical and soft skills required to build a progressive, successful career.
Ameen Abushaira, Cost Manager, London
I’ve been with RLB for more than 30 years since accepting a summer placement in 1988. I must have made a good impression – not least because RLB offered me a sponsorship for my final year at Reading University where I studied quantity surveying. I was proud to become Managing Partner of our Bristol office in 2015.
