Rider Levett Bucknall UK (RLB UK) has joined forces with charity, Ronald McDonald House Charities, to support them with their estate management.

RLB has been commissioned to undertake a Building Fabric Condition survey and Planning Preventative Maintenance plan on the Charity’s national portfolio of properties that consists of 11 Ronald McDonald Houses around the country. The Houses give families the chance to remain close to their child whilst they are in hospital and are located as close as possible to specialist children’s hopsitals across the UK.

Helping provide the Charity with intelligence on remedial actions and possible future costs to keep their estate in the required condition, RLB is providing the insights from its app, RLB Field pro bono for the Charity with surveys being undertaken at cost. The survey data will assist the Charity with short and long term capital planning as well as potentially allowing a robust and joined up approach to procurement.  RLB will also be providing access to the RLB Field application to allow in House staff to record information on furniture, fixtures and equipment as well as exploring the potential to allow them to create maintenance work orders.

The work is part of a long term partnership between RLB UK and McDonald’s that includes RLB undertaking Programme, Project, Cost and Health & Safety Management for McDonald’s in the UK and Ireland and forms part of an ongoing commitment from RLB to work with the charity to provide them with further technical support.

Julian King, National Head of Retail at RLB UK comments, “It is great to be able to extend our experience and expertise to McDonald’s charity of choice. Having worked with them on many of their retail projects, extending our services to the Charity made perfect sense.”
