Rider Levett Bucknall UK has appointed Mark Grayson as National Head of Logistics & Manufacturing to be based in Sheffield, signalling its commitment to the Industrial & Manufacturing sector and the creation of a strong regional presence.
Mark Grayson joins from Faithful+Gould where he headed up a team that grew their revenue by delivering global clients’ projects into local markets. Mark will take a similar approach in his new role, capitalising on the established RLB global connections and key clients to drive growth and delivery in UK regions. Alongside his specialised experience in the automation of industrial and manufacturing estates for the food & beverage and automotive sectors, Mark will also bring knowledge of decarbonisation activity for the built environment.
Born and bred in Yorkshire, Mark will be a national sector lead and play a key part in the strategic vision for the region. This senior appointment aligns with RLB’s commitment to Yorkshire and to the levelling out and spread of economic wealth and job opportunities across the UK. The appointment also demonstrates the organisation’s intent to grow its stake in the manufacturing sector, with a rebranding of its sector from Industrial & Logistics to Logistics & Manufacturing, in addition to Grayson’s appointment.
Matt Brooker, National Head of Sectors for RLB UK comments, “Mark’s appointment reflects our ambitions to invest in our regional offices and to grow our logistics & manufacturing sector. It further demonstrates the value of the sector and the Yorkshire region in RLB’s 2030 strategic plan and targets. We are delighted that Mark will join us at such a pivotal time and know that his experience and expertise will complement the talent already here at RLB and support the achievement of our future targets and the development of decarbonisation and sustainability related services.”
“RLB’s focus on regional markets together with its ambitions for the logistics & manufacturing sector was instrumental in my decision to join the team.” continues Mark. “Knowing that my skill and experience matched RLB’s ambition and that I could also promote my passion for sustainability to a receptive audience, made this the perfect move.”
Matt Summerhill, Managing Partner – Yorkshire and Humber adds “With Yorkshire, particularly Sheffield, steeped in manufacturing history it makes perfect sense for Mark, who comes from Sheffield and whose experience lies within the manufacturing & built environment to join RLB’s Sheffield office. This announcement marks a 10% rise in our Yorkshire team numbers appointed since May this year, showing the growth of the region and the investment of RLB to it.”
