When government departments merged, RLB was asked to review their property needs.

RLB compared the properties across many regional sites to find the best assets, in terms of quality and future strategy.
The value of the excess property was assessed, and factored into the plans. 3D CAD visualisations of proposed layouts were shown to staff to keep them involved in the project. The retained property was then updated using capital receipts to meet the client’s needs.

• Total estate running costs were reduced by 40 percent.
• The Carbon footprint was reduced by about 70 percent.

The client reviewed their working practices, improving staff communication, flexibility, teamwork and efficiency.
